In reply to Swirl marks on Hardwood Floors by Brian Mlynek on August 20th, 2001 11:28 AM [Go to top of thread]

Hi Brian,

Are the swirl marks on the poly? Are they on the wood? And what does the Contractor say as to why you see them?

Sorry, I/we can't see them from here. As to waiting a year, I think the Contractor is betting that if you 'walk' on the floor enough times where you see the swirling, the 'high spots' will level out. This is just simply wear-and-tear. The poly should settle flat in relatively short order (like when you start moving things BACK into the room, ha know.) I don't know what he's trying to pull here.

For now, my best to ya and hope this helps.
