The repairperson has to check through the ignition sequence. the problem can be anywhere, from an anticipator in the thermostat set too low, bad furnace electrical ground, reversed wiring polarity, loose connections, bad ignition board, improper exhaust draft setup, and more. A knowledgeable technician with instruments on the furnace is better than a bird in the hand - or a guess in the internet.
