I live in a small house my grandparents built over 40 years ago on 2 acres of land. There are approximately 15 large Oak trees scattered around the perimiter of the house. The other acre has very few trees, i.e. 2 Apple trees, 2 Peach trees, 2 Bradford Pear trees, and a small Magnolia Tree - In this acre there is plenty of sunshine where we grow a large vegetable garden. My problem lies under the Oak Trees. The House is on a slope and I can not seem to grow grass of any kind...just moss. Help...what should I do?? I have thought about using mulch along with shade loving plants... but what happens in the fall to winter months when it rains "LEAVES AND ACORNS"!! Would that not be a back breaking, time consuming chore of trying to keep my "MULCH CLEAN". We have a Kabota Lawn tractor and leaf vaccum....but no grass!
