I just finished installing a new American Standard float-type inlet valve assembly. The installation went smooth. Everything worked like it is supposed to except for one thing. After the tank fills with water, there is a loud and annoying thump when the water flowing to the inlet valve shuts off. It must be back pressure going into the supply lines. How do I correct this problem?
