I just moved into a home in East Texas that has the Hunter Auto Temp II Heat Pump (Model 44428) After downloading instructions, I am still at a loss as to why the aux heat does not shut off. When it gets cold enough outside (appears to be 40-45 degrees or colder) the aux heat kicks in and continues to run unless I manually stop it. The thermostat works properly when NOT using the aux heat feature.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
