You know, I would set up my horses, get the radio going, and get some quality latex primer and paint both sides;set them aside for drying and then paint the front side once more.

Priming the back side is a good precaution if you get a water leak or something and it will seal in the wood.

Its not that much extra work especially since you can do this outside. Since latex will dry so fast, you might even put on the finish coat outside also, then do your miter cuts and installation then touch it up again and your set.
