In May 99 we had a a Robbins prefinished wood floor installed over concrete slab with a vinyl barrier. The glue down methond was used. The wood had a 25 year guarantee. After one month the soft grain started colapsing. Robbins inspected and agreed to repalace the floor. It appears that ther was a bad run of wood at the factory although they would not admit to it.
After one month the new floor started doing the same thing and the floor started to gator in various spots. There are many loose spots in the floor. Robbins inspected the floor but claims there is nothing wrong with it a suggested that several boards be replaced. Several neghbors have had Bruce flooring installed and they have not encountered this problem.
I'm looking for help. Has anyone else encountered this problem? The installer stated that in his 25 years of business he has never encountered this problem. He thinks it is a manufacturing defect in a new finish.
