The problems you describe can be caused inadequate wiring, and/or deteriorated connections. They can be serious and have been known to cause house fires. I would suggest that you do three things First, and this should be free to you, contact your local electric utility, describe your problem, and ask them to send someone out to inspect your electric meter connections and the connections at the transformer. Secondly, if this has not corrected the problem, quickly retain an electrician to examine your main electrical panel and make sure all connections are good, and that nothing has loosened up. Lastly if all connections are good, and you are sleeping better because the electrician has told you that you are not going to have an electrical caused fire then you can ask him for an estimate for an additional circuit to the vicinity of your computer.
