After pouring the concrete foundation into the forms for our new build in Ohio, a crack was found. Builder informed us the footers are level as the contractors lasered the walls. A structural engineer is to look at the crack and determine the correction. Is this a common occurance? The job was done in very cold weather. The core samples taken were above average. Builder said the correction will be easy- fill the crack with an epoxy. Seems strange to have a new house with a crack in the foundation. Will water be a problem in the future? The wife and I just do not want to have a problem a few years down the road. Thanks for any help!
