I'm not an expert on this, but I put the steel in the footing we poured for a house we moved. The most important thing I discovered was that it was a ton of hard work and it would have been cheaper than I thought to have a crew out to do it. The actual pour may require a number of people, necessitating a crew anyway, because the concrete won't wait. My point is the only concrete work I'll do in the future is point to where I want it. I got a couple of books from the library but I don't remember the titles.
