Mark I'm sorry,but I have to disagree with you. Post should not be put in the ground. Even CCA and Ceder will rot. You have to pour footings 24" to 36",depending where you live. The pre-fab post blocks work great. Check hardware or brick companies. They also make a support bracket to anchor to the footing, Just make sure the footing is above ground.Check with your local code for the right application in your city Thanks Ron J.
