Hi Ammunje
Even though they are pressure treated, weight bearing posts should not be in contact with the earth. I would be inclined to dig around each post to their footing and tightly pack this area with p-gravel. Posts should be tied to the footing...but because an attached porch will not likely shift, I'd only make sure that each post is securely fastened to the header above it. You don't mention what part of the country you are in, but if southern, termites should be a big concern here, as the posts will act as a great conduit to the wood framing of your house.
