Thanks for your reply. We spoke with a flooring specialist at Home Depot and he recommended a product called "Grout Haze Clean Up". He, like you, recommended wiping up excess grout about 10 minutes after application (just as it begins to haze). He also told us that our tile has a glaze, so it shouldn't have absorbed the grout. I will let everyone know how the product worked incase anyone else runs into this problem. In the mean time, we know not to wait an hour for the grout to dry despite what the packaging says.
