I am an industrial hygienist and am called to
investigate many mold and poria problems here in
southern, CA. A quality remediation contractor is
the real key. Removing all infected wood, keeping
the area dry (removing planters), treating
surrounding non infected wood with Timbor or
another similar product should do the trick. Email me if you have any

I've seen about 12 houses so far in the past 2
years with poria. It sure is a destructive fungus.
