porcelain tile over concrete once covered in outdoor carpet

Posted by Ron on June 16th, 2001 01:08 AM

I am going to use thinset to place porcelain tile on an outdoor patio that was once covered with outdoor carpet. I have used an adhesive remover to scrape away 99% of the old adhesive, but there is still some residue left, particularly in the rough spots of the concrete. I have tried sanding it, but because the concrete is not perfectly smooth, even then some residue is left behind. Is it okay to go ahead and thinset the tile or does someone have a good method to remove this last remaining residue?
