popcorn and paint do they absorb the same?

Posted by carolyn huesman on January 18th, 2003 02:10 PM

i had a water damaged ceiling re-popcorned, but the attic had not been checked correctly so it had caused more leak damage and the popcorn needed to be painted over. the painter did not make it into corners or along the wall in many places (there were a total of three rooms that were done) the colors are very close now...what i'm wondering is in a few years, are those unpainted popcorn areas going to look more different than the painted areas because paint and unpainted popcorn areas absorb smoking/steam/kitchen grease in the are differntly? If so, i want the company that did the painting to come back and finish up the painting correctly. If not, it's no big deal, because you REALLY have to look closely to see that the areas aren't actaually painted.
Thanks for any help you can give me. If you could answer me by e-mail, that would really be helpful too.
