Polyurethane over shellac?

Posted by Melissa on February 2nd, 2001 04:54 PM

I searched on the page for "shellac" but didn't find anything. I have some woodwork that has 2 coats of satin shellac on it. I'd like to slap some high gloss polyurethane over it. Is it OK to sand it a bit and then put the poly on? Anybody have advice to heed before doing this?

P.S. I don't have the shellac can, but I do have the polyurethane can w/ingredients, etc.
