Polyurethane Floor Finishes

I've had a new red oak floor installed and finished with 4 coats of
oil based polyurethane high gloss finish.

I installed felt pads/glides on all the chairs and furniture. I allowed
1 week of cure time before I put any furniture on the floor. However, I
noticed that the felt pads on the chairs and furniture left an imprint
of the felt pad on the polyurethane finish of the floor. It has now
been 3 weeks since the floor was finished and the chairs and furniture
still leave a fresh imprint on the floor and the old imprints still are

How can these imprints be removed and avoided?

Is the situation with my floor finish the "normal" situation or is it unusual
to see these imprints after 1 week and also after 3 weeks?

I was told that waiting 1 week before placing the furniture on the floor was
sufficient and that some people only wait 3 or 4 days before placing furniture
on the floor.

The finish looks and feels fine but it just leaves these imprints and I'm
wondering if there is something wrong with the polyurethane finish or the way
the finish was applied.
