We have a 100 year old house with original wood floors. The wood is dark, and in great condition, but any protective coat that had been on them has worn off. We were planning on putting a couple coats of fast-drying, oil based poly on them, and was wondering what the proper procedure is for doing this. Do we need to sand the floors at all before doing the first coat, or just give them a good cleaning? How many coats would you suggest? We appreciate any help!
