> My Polybutylene, Poly Butyl, Plastic, PB, Quest/Qwest pipe is leaking or brittle, Find Help Here! by Handyman on 10/26/2004

We had our entire house re piped with polybutylene in l996. We did not know there was a recall on it. Obviously the plumber did not either because he piped several new houses that he was building with it. We discovered 8 leaks at one time. As soon as they were fixed, 2 more leaks occurred. About 3 weeks ago the pipes in our shower started leaking and last week the faucet that was connected to the side of the house started leaking. We fear checking under the house because we know there will be new leaks repeatedly.
Is there any way we can get help to replace the entire polybutylene pipes? We received a paper on the lawsuit, but the dates were different from when we put the pipes in under our house. We appreciate any help or advice
