Poly over shellac

Melissa, this is not a good idea. The shellac may have wax in it. Most shellac does, to some extent or another, and the can will not tell you about it. The poly will have problems bonding to the shellac, if it does have the wax. The result will be that the poly will peel.

Sand and then put more shellac on.
