First of all, if that synical person above has nothing constructive to say then they should just stay off. Now, I have seen Walt Garrisons barn home and it is beautiful. It was not a pole barn but he gave us the idea of actually attaching our barn and indoor arena to our house. Because pole barns are square in shape you can build on. Our is designed in a square "s" shape. The top is our house, the small up and down is the hallway/laundry room/office the next cross section is the barn/stalls. The next up and down is the alleyway to the last cross section, an indoor arena. The house is 36x90. We frame and wired most of it ourselves. We looked at floor plans for "in town" houses and adapted what we liked for this house. It's amazing what you can do with a giant rectangle.

Good Luck
