Plywood vs OSB

Hi Mark
The principal reason for OSB's popularity is cost. A 4X8 sheet of 7/16" exterior grade OSB (not waferboard) is about $7 while 1/2" CDX is about $11. However, depending on what kind of siding you will be installing, plywood will hold nails better and is less inclined to have corners break off if it is accidentally dropped.

My bias is towards plywood...probably because I have used it for so long and it just seems stronger....although I can't cite any studies to support that.
