Plumbing/ Re-locate vent pipe

Posted by Joe Saberito on February 21st, 2003 03:04 PM

The vent pipe that I would like to relocate is
in the center of a small closet.
The pipe is tied into the main sewer line
and also serves as a vent for the bathroom next to
the closet.
the pipe runs straight up from the floor and bends
on a 90 deg.angle that goes into the wall and than
Would it be possible to cut this pipe and move it
into in the wall?
if so what should i know before i do this.
The pipe is made of cast iron, would i being able
to use PVC?
Is there any code I should know about?
