Most sheets of plastic have no perforations. Any moisture tends to collect on a colder object. The ground tapers in temperature from the outdoor temperature (in winter) near the surface to about 50 degrees a few feet down. Moisture can collect on the wet surface and fiberglass acts as a wick - it can get wet by trapping moisture between. Tyvek plastic has perforations to prevent this.
