plastic tile and adhesive removal

Posted by elliemay0 on April 18th, 2003 06:54 PM

Hello! I am removing old 3x3 plastic tile from a kitchen wall. Underneath the tiles, the adhesive that was used is very thick. It smells like enamel paint, and is kind of rubbery yet somewhat tacky. The tiles easily pop off. However, I need suggestions on the adhesive removal. I tried a hairdryer, but it didn't roll off like I thought it would. Any other suggestions? Also, if removal pits the plaster, how can I cover the pits? Thanks in advance!
