Ok.. I have an old house that is mostly plaster and lath. We have no problems steaming wall paper off of that surface. But there are 2 rooms that have some kind of drywall and when we try to steam the wall paper off the top surface of the dry wall wants to come with it. It gets all hacked up. I know you all say take the paper off and don't paint over it, but I am tempted to plaster over the seams in those rooms and paint over the paper. Ok I know that no one will agree with that, but what should I do? Why are all of the professionals so dead set against paint and plaster over paper?
