placement of carpet seams

Posted by Saru on February 26th, 2000 06:39 PM

I have a dispute with my builder. He placed 5 seams in the carpet down a curved hall (ran carpet out of ajoining rooms to same carpet) and my bigest complaint, he put a 2 1/2 piece of carpet in a room entrance (short hall entrance) instead of placing a room length seam at the back of the room where there would be no foot traffic. He claims that the small insert is correct and I am trying to find information that would suport the fact that seams should be placed where there is as little traffic as possible i.e. the back of the room not the doorway.
