Pine wood floors - best finish?

I know this is follow-up on an old post but in case anyone stumbles across this site as I have for the first time, here's mine. I just started laying down a pine floor in my kitchen (shiplap) much to horrors expressed by anyone I've mentioned this to. I am so excited to read the posts where many folks love the look as I do. For nails, I found "hard cut flooring" nails at Home Depot which look very similar to the many square cut nails I've pulled up in this old house of mine - just not enough to complete a floor. My problem was deciding on "to stain or not to stain". After 4 different colors, I decided to go Natural and finish with poly? paste wax? what else?

Can anyone suggest a better finish to use on a pine floor in a kitchen (11x14) where there will only be runners along the base of cabinets?
