I am going through the same process as you. I want wood floors instead of wall to wall but price is the obsticle. I am doing all my own work. Would you be kind enough to tell me where you bought your wood floorboards.

The little that I have learned is follows: Be sure to use rosen or roofing paper between the pine and your subflooring. (Stops squeeks and moisture from below) Do not use any glue the pine needs to be able to move. Use nails. Coveer both sides of the pine with what ever finish you are going to use to keep any moisture from cupping the pine. I believe only one coat is necessary on the botton side.
