Sometimes to make a high AFUE rating, pilot size is reduced to smaller orifi. Sometimes LP gas orifi are mistakenly installed. A cracked heat exchanger can blow out pilots as well. Slight relocations of the pilot during service, or spider webs in the orifice can misshape or stop pilot flames. All these need to be investigated by an experienced serviceperson.
