I am getting ready to pickle a pine, bead-board cieling on a new screen porch we have just built.
I found an article on the web, submitted by the National Craft Association which requires a great many steps, which may be necessary on a craft piece, but a little overkill for the cieling of a porch.

Taking information from their article, I am thinking of thinning the paint with mineral spirits 50/50, brushing it on evenly and wiping it with T-shirt material.

In your opinion, would this not be sufficient for a cieling? They also suggested a coat or two of polueruethane. I'm wondering if that would even be necessary.

I would welcome your comments.
