PERGO BUCKLING

Posted by MARIA BOBOC on September 4th, 2001 05:17 PM

BEWARE OF PERGO BUCKLING. PERGO IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. I HAVE A SITUATION THAT A CLIENT OF MINE THAT IS DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT. IT DOES NOT MENTION THAT INSTALLING THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT BUCKLE IF YOU HAVE EXTREMELLY HEAVY FURNITURES IN A BIG ROOM AREA. PERGO TELLS YOU IT'S OK AS LONG AS YOU LEAVE 3/8" OR 1/4" OPENING BETWEEN WALL AND PERGO FLOORING FOR EXPASION OF THE FLOATING FLOOR. WELL THAT IS NOT TRUE THIS CLIENT HAS 3 PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT WEIGHS A TOTAL OF 2,400 POUNDS AND IT BUCKLED AND THEY WANT TO BLAME THE INSTALLER WHICH FOLLOWED THEIR METHOD OD INSTALLATION. NOW THEY ARE PASSING THE BUCK TO EACH OTHER LIKE WE ARE NOBODY. NOW I HAVE TO REMOVE THIS MATERIAL AND SATISFY MY CLIENT AND PUT WOODFLOOR THAT IS NAILED DOWN AND DOES NOT FLOAT. PERGO IS NOT BACKING UP THIS PROBLEM AND THEIR IS A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM.
