Pedestal sinks

It sounds like you want to keep your current sink and add a pedestal - is that what you are asking? I don't know if that will work at all because a pedestal sink has to have support and the plumbing is exposed but anything is possible. I do know there has to be a horizontal stud in the wall, or the sink has to line up with the current studs in the wall, or some sinks have a holder that attaches to the wall and you hang the sink on that. If you don't have a stud it could mean taking out a section of the wall to put one in. Prices on the sinks vary by style - Money Pits $150 is about what I paid for mine - sink, pedestal base, installation kit and new faucet. Luckily I had vertical studs that matched up with the holes in the sink.
