Partition walls

If you have put screws into the OSB and have hit the joist with them and you still have noise then your partition wall might not be nailed to the floor(OSB)or not attached well enough.

When building multi family buildings we are required(in most towns)to glue or calk common walls to the floor to eliminate this problem.

The only thing I can think of that will fix this is a good bead of liquid nails between the sill plate and the floor,on both sides of the wall.Or toe nailing or screwing the sill plate to the floor.You will have to remove the base to do this.Luck
