Paper towels and your iron

Get a roll of paper towels (you'll use many). Place several sheets (2 or 3) over the candle wax. Use your iron (no steam) on the setting appropriate for the fiber of your carpet (wool, nylon, polyester, etc.). You're going to place the iron over the paper towels and melt the wax. The paper towels will absorb it out of your carpet. Move to another clean section of your towels (or new towels all together) and repeat, again, and again, and again, and again...
