I have a outdoor, exposed balcony tile floor with
a rubber membrane over non-pressure treated
plywood. The studs supporting it are pressure
The balcony has been redone twice in 17 years.
The plywood is completely rotted for the second
time. I have heard that composite wood decking to
replace the tile with a metal or plastic pan under the deck with a gutter attachment might be a viable solution for the drainage problem. I am having difficulty locating any of these systems. I have checked all the references to balcony systems and decking in the Journal of Light Construction. What are your suggestions and do you know of any metal or plastic pan systems that are on the market?
