Painting vinyl siding

Posted by Sally Lawrence on July 22nd, 2002 09:05 PM

Hi Bob!!

We have a question for you. We live in Western Pennsylvania, near Ligonier. We have an 1880's victorian home. The previous owners put white vinyl sidding up over the original wood sidding. We would love to redo the wood sidding, but we are unsure of how rotten it is and he added an addition on the rear of the house. The addition doesn't have the wood sidding. We were thinking of possibly painting the vinyl sidding and doing the trim in the accent colors, like you normally find in a victorian home. We found one person that said you can paint it with 100% laytex, but he said to stay the same color or lighter, what colors are lighter than white?!?! We would really lover some good advise here, because we don't know where to start painting our home.
