Painting the inside of a garage

Posted by RangeR BoB on July 19th, 1999 12:58 PM

New home owner, here, and I have an unfinished garage. It is taped & sealed drywall, with nothing on it. The nails and seams are smootheed over, thats about it.

My wife and I wanted to painting over the area inside and see if we could make something cheerful, such as a bright blue sky with little puffy clouds.

My question is, do I need to do anything to the drywall before painting? Some folks have recommended texturing the walls first, then painting. Could I just seal the walls first, and then paint over the sealer? Would it look OK?

Thanks for any suggestions.
