Our house was built in 1974 and has inexpensive stained,
hollow wood interior doors. We would like to paint them
white. Should we use a primer? If so,any suggstions?
What type of paint would be best so they don't look
dull? Finally, is a roller best to use?

We also have five wooden spindles near our front entrance
instead of a half wall. I believe verithane was used on
them. I would like to paint these white too. Same
