I just removed 40+ years of wallpaper from plaster walls and repainted. It looks beautiful! And yes there was a lot of work involved - but it was'nt that bad. I took my time and used good products - I used a wallpaper stripper that was safe - easy to use and smelled of oranges. I don't know if I just lucked out - but the product worked great! Below are the steps I did:
1.) I used a spray bottle to spray the stipper product on - waited a few minutes then scraped off the wallpaper.
2.) After all the wallpaper was off I used the same product to fully remove all glue residue.
3.) Then I used joint compound to fix the 40+ years of nail holes, cracks, etc.
4.) Sanded down everything and repeated step 3 again.
5.) Sanded down again and then washed the walls.
6.) Painted the walls.
There are absolutely beautiful. I am 100% satisfied.
