We are trying to have a room painted (fauxed with plaster) over paneling. They started the painting, but unbeknownst to us, the paneling was warped and bowing out from the wall--worse in some places than others. There is molding and ceiling beams and a built-in bookcase. Do we have to take down the paneling? It will probably mean taking down the moulding, the beams, and possible the bookcases. And, we have already had the ceiling painted between the beams. Any suggestions?
