I have been thinking about painting my fireplace, too. Mine is made out of a very dark brick and I used to have wallboard. I took that off and painted my room a nice peachy sort of terra cotta color. My accents are all white but that dark, grey/black fireplace which takes up 1/3 of the wall just doesn't blend in. The brick extends from the hearth which is about 10 feet long, all the way to the ceiling. I was thinking of painting it white. I'd like to hear what ya'll think of this and tell me why or why I shouldn't. I don't want to regret it later.
