Painting linoleum floor

Posted by Carol on August 20th, 2001 06:12 PM

I am trying to fix up a bedroom without spending much money. It has a linoleum floor (no, I can't imagine why).* I am hoping to cover it with Kilz 2 primer and then just paint it brown. I realize this is not the most attractive option but am wondering if the paint will stick to the linoleum. Alternatively, how do you remove the linoleum and the glue and whatever else is under there?
*The linoleum is made to look like wood, although the fake grains don't match so it looks like a bunch of fingerprints on a police station blotter. As far as I know, there is red oak flooring under that.
