I have a bathroom that has mildew stains on the ceiling with the white paint coming off,I cleaned and scraped the loose stuff off number of times, now finally sraping it all off to a smooth surface (at least trying without gouging the drywall and where i did I'm going to either spackle it or use joint compound, is one better than the other? Also the paint used before is unknown was painted by previous owner. I'm using a sealer(primer) by ace paints and then using a mildew resistant paint made by Ben Moore(self Priming) Is this okay to do. I also need to get more ventialation in there that will be the next progect.p.s this is an old house probably 1920's or 30's.
