Painting a tin ceiling

Posted by Dugan on January 26th, 2001 09:58 AM

I am ready to paint an old 2000 sq.ft.tin ceiling that I have scraped any loose paint off of. I have also replaced about 500 sq.ft. of the panels with new ones I had reproduced to match the old ones (they are shiney). There is no rusty ones remaining. I have used bondo, and an automotive expensive stop rust paint where needed.I would like to prime and paint now, but I am so confused as to what products to use. I think I should use a rust preventive or inhibitive primer. I have read that the Kilz Total One has a rust inhibitive. Would this be good?...Dugan
