Painting a tiled fireplace

Posted by Mike on July 26th, 2001 02:18 AM

Bob and company,
I've recently purchased a condo with a "beautiful", bright, lime green tiled fireplace--one of a kind, really. Well, I'd like to extinguish the species.
1) May I use a tough primer and color coat on the fireplace exterior, or must I use a heat-resistant paint?
2)Since the grout and tile are of different densities, what other steps are required (esp. w/ the grout) in order to ensure that the painted result does not appear odd between tile and grout?
