For heaven's sake's everybody, you sound scared to death.Look,I painted my fireplace, although it's stone.Look at it this way,I stained it,or glazed it.I bought some paints at a craft store suitable for painting terra cotta, concrete and stone. It's made by Plaid,it comes in durable colors.I used several different colors to achieve the effect that I got with a sea sponge and paintbrush(use what you have)You may want to thin it with water.I and even rubbed some gold antiquing in a tube onto the stone with my fingers, in certain areas.Use you're imagination!I've gotten more compliments on my fireplace, since I "colored" it.It's a mixture of terra cotta and baked brick,it's great! And I may even change it ,again,if I want! Try It!
