Painting a corrugated, galvanized steel window well

I understand that some preparation is needed before I can put a coat (or three) of white paint on the interior of a completed untouched, except by time, corrugated, galvanized steel window well. I had been told that it is possible to wash it first with neat white vinegar and this will ensure that the paint will not peel off. Can anyone confirm this.

Thanks
