REmember, prep is 98% of the paint job, painting is the easiest.

Sand down all areas, caulk and spackle areas needed, prime all areas where bare wood is showing. Prime with two coats.

Do not paint if the wood is the slightest bit wet or after a rain on the bare wood. Make sure the wood has dried out thoroughly. This only pertains to rain or fog or humidity on bare wood.

USE A GOOD QUALITY OF PAINT FROM A PAINT STORE. DO NOT SKIMP ON MONEY HERE.

Lay on several coats of finish coat.

Let each coat dry thoroughly before the next one.

Spraying does coat better and is faster also.
